I’m a step mum, foster mum and mother to be…

Hi, I'm Jo Western, an adventurer at heart. When not photographing amazing moments I can be found in the ocean or deep in New Zealand bush with my husband, Josh.

Growing up, I was always intrigued by photography, my dream was to become a wildlife photographer in Africa, however “Sensible Sally” set in and I became a Nurse.

I have nursed mostly children with expertise in premature babies and paediatric emergencies. This has taught me to be confident with newborns and calm in high-stress environments such as the flurry of getting ready for the big day of a wedding.

I am well-travelled, living and exploring through Europe and the UK. While on my two year OE working and living abroad the idea of photography never left. In London, I enrolled in my first photography course.

On my way home I adventured my way around Africa camping for three months from Rwanda to South Africa. This adventure reignited my spark for photography as there was so much to capture. I knew this is what I wanted to do forever.

Once home I pursued this dream and have loved creating art for people. I love all genres of photography from capturing those small features on a newborn to the smile and giggle of a toddler to a moment of pure love of a family to the exciting moment when you say “I do”.

Capturing connections that people treasure forever is what I love!

I have continued to gain knowledge and most importantly experience in photography and can't wait to capture your moments of connection.
